Throughout his entertainment career as an accomplished actor, Alex McCrindle graced the silver screen many times. McCrindle found his beginnings in film with roles in "Trouble in the Glen" (1954) with Margaret Lockwood, the Alastair Sim comedy "Wee Geordie" (1955) and "The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes" (1970) with Robert Stephens. Later, he acted in the Mark Hamill smash hit action picture "Star Wars" (1977), "The Peregrine Hunters" (1978) with Julia Gambold and "Correction, Please or How We Got Into Pictures" (1979). He also appeared in the spy thriller "Eye of the Needle" (1981) with Donald Sutherland and "Sakharov" (HBO, 1983-84). Later in his career, McCrindle acted in the historical drama "Comrades" (1989) with Robin Soans. McCrindle passed away in April 1990 at the age of 79.
